We start our 2020 series of exhibitions with ‘Belonging – Lost Voices.’

Hussain Akrad is an artist from Daraa, Syria, who now lives in Edinburgh. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University in 1973 and was an arts teacher in Daraa for over 30 years. Hussian is a member of the Syrian Artist’s Union and has exhibited in Syria, Algeria and Lebanon, winning prizes and honours for his work. He enjoys painting and drawing to share important messages about humanity and his own experience of war and displacement in Syria.
