Our vision is for communities where artistic enterprise is accessible to all and which celebrate a diversity of creative talent.
Our mission is to support artists on low income to sell, exhibit or develop art in a range of local venues and to facilitate art exhibitions for charitable and community benefit.
- To enable people on low income or who are unemployed access community space to develop, exhibit or sell art.
- To support charitable groups to access community space to promote artistic activity.
- To hire space for projects or exhibitions for community benefit.
Over the past 2.5 years, from our incorporation in March 2018, we have developed links with local galleries, businesses, space donors and artists in Edinburgh. Our launch exhibition took place in August 2018.
We have linked up with charities such as the Nepal Scotland Association, the Prince’s Trust, Crisis, the Refugee Council and Rock Trust who referred artists for exhibition space.
We established our social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and more recently Instagram.
We held nine exhibitions, using space in the Coburg House Art Studios, St Mary’s Cathedral and the Handmade Factory and one online exhibition series.
We recruited Trustees and volunteers and held regular meetings to review the progress of the charity.
Over 2020 we worked at developing our online presence and showcasing artists work on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We continue to learn and develop in this area – which will be crucial as we navigate the post Covid world and look at ways of ‘virtually’ supporting artists.
Our second Annual General Meeting took place in June 2020. We evaluated our progress over the year and submitted our year annual report and accounts to OSCR. Trustees are developing a new strategy over 2020, which will be available on the website.
